My beutiful name

Another may 18. have passed. That day is special only because of my name. As most Swedes know, every day is connected to one or two names. May 18. is the day when people recognize my name, Eric (or Erik as it says normally, but everyone knows people spelling Erik with a K are gayish.)

This tradition is rather Swedish I would guess. People sending texts and saying "oh, happy name's day!". I don't know why you should treat a name specially once a year, but Swedes have always been keen to add odd traditions that includes lots of booze or gifts. In this case gifts. The gifts are usually shitty, like you get a set or earplugs if you're lucky. The corner of a chocolate bar is the more common thing to give someone. Or you get someone a glass of water, it is his name's day after all!

Well, my name means "lone ruler". I guess it has some random germanic history behind it, but I haven't bothered to look that up. I don't care either. What I do care about is that I missed a party for everyone called Eric/Erik, wich I would love to attend to, but whatever.

I might add that I like my name. I like when girls call my name and add an "oh"-sound before. Makes me feel special. Or something. I've been up for too many hours know..

Jag har bara insett att om 100 år kommer allt jag har gjort i livet att vara helt förglömt. Och mitt namn kommer inte ändra det. Men du ska veta att jag uppskattade din hälsning, man blir alltid lite glad när någon tänker på en ibland =)
